Eugene PortmanHello and welcome to my website. I am UK based pianist and I am frequently hired for weddings, parties and corporate events around Engalnd, Scotland and Wales. I'm mostly hired as a pianist in Wiltshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire,  Gloucestershire, Buckinghamshire and the Home Counties but I am constantly travelling and I will cover the entire UK.

Being a pianist I have to make sure that the music entertains and that there is enough variety to please the bulk of my audience. The music I play includes classical, latin, rock, ragtime, blues, jazz and many other styles. I try and play music which is easy to listen to and hopefully sits well in any social occasion. Music with a ‘feel good’ factor is what I try to achieve.

I am frequently booked as a wedding pianist but I am also booked for parties, fashion shows, trade shows,  civil partnerships, corporate events and other special occasions. Please check out my repertoire pages to see and hear the styles of music I play.

Most people worry about whether there is a piano at the venue and also if the instrument (if any) is suitable. The truth, and I think that most pianists will back me up with this, is that most pianos at venues are merely antiques and are completely unsuitable as a music instrument. A solution is at hand, as I can bring a digital piano to any venue and I can assure you that the sound will be superb. All the music on this site was recorded on the same digital piano that I would bring. The digital piano also has the advantage that it can be moved very easily if music is needed in more than one location. A digital piano can also be set up outside provided that there is a source of AC power. Very often there is a grand piano at a venue which is just in the right setting, and it would just seem wrong for me to set up a modern alternative. At the end of the the day it is your choice but please consider a digital piano as a very good alternative.
